Taylors Spindle
Taylors spindles are used for fitting door knobs where the knob is not required to turn to operate a latch or lock. Therefore the knob would be a dummy knob, just being used to pull the door open. The spindle is screwed to the surface of the door and the door knob fitted onto it.
