Dummy Tapered Spindle for China Mortice Knobs
Zinc plated dummy tapered spindle for use with china (porcelain) mortice knobs. The spindle is tapered on one face and so it is necessary to ensure that the porcelain knobs to be fitted use this type of tapered spindle. Used for fitting door knobs where the knob is not required to turn to operate a latch or lock. Therefore the knob would be a dummy knob, just being used to pull the door open. The spindle is screwed to the surface of the door and the china knob fitted onto it. Approximate dimensions: Fixing plate is 35mm diameter with spindle length 35mm and tapered.
