Whereas mortice locks are fitted into the door edge, rim locks are fitted to the face of the door and this is why rim knobs are only supplied with one rose, as one knob fits directly up to the body of the lock.
Our satin chrome rim door knobs include an oval style, a reeded design and a mushroom style. The door knob with the rose is fixed to the opposite side of the door to the lock and is connected to the other knob by means of a spindle which passes through the door and the lock body. When either knob is turned, the spindle rotates and operates the latch part of the lock, opening the door. Our satin chrome rim lock also has a locking facility and this is operated by using the keys supplied.
