Anchor Bolts & Fixings
Anchor bolts and concrete anchor bolts, are available in many different types and sizes and are commonly used for fixing items into masonry and brick. Amongst the popular types of anchor bolt available masonry anchor bolts are one of the most common. Our concrete fixings anchor bolts are available as two types, loose bolt and projection bolt. The loose bolts have a hexagon head and an expandable sleeve. The material that you are fixing fits in-between the head and the sleeve and the thickness of that material would determine the length of bolt that you need. The projection type of sleeve anchor bolt does not have a fixed head. The masonry or concrete is drilled to accommodate the sleeve and the threaded part of the anchor is left projecting out from the concrete. When the nut is tightened, the sleeve expands providing a secure fixing. Both of these types are suitable for use as ground anchor bolts or wall anchor bolts.
Eye Bolt Anchor
Another variation is an eye bolt anchor. These masonry anchor eye bolts work in the same way but have an eye rather than a fixed head, making them ideal for hanging things from. They are also available as a hook type and are typically used for applications requiring extra strength such as hanging punch bags where a strong fixing is required but the item still needs to be removable.
Other variations of masonry bolts and anchors include nylon frame fixings, metal sleeve anchors and metal frame anchors. The nylon fixings are suitable for use with wood or UPVC frames and when tightened, expand in the same way as a normal plastic wall plug. You can be certain that when using an anchor bolt fixing that it will be a strong and secure fixing.
