Satin brass in a hotel-style bathroom
A double vanity in green-grey, terrazzo underfoot and ribbed glass, with clean-lined Bauhaus handles and knurled satin brass details.
The main bathroom of a busy family house, redesigned so two people can get ready at once. A wall-hung double vanity in soft green-grey runs along the back wall under two round brass-framed mirrors, with a walk-in shower behind ribbed glass and a terrazzo floor that hides splashes. The metalwork is all satin brass and deliberately simple: Bauhaus bar levers on the bathroom and bedroom doors, knurled knobs on the vanity, and a knurled towel ring and robe hook.

Planning a hotel-style bathroom
Two basins, no queue
A double vanity is the change people mention most after a bathroom renovation. If the room is at least 1.6m wide you can usually fit two basins with elbow room, and a wall-hung unit keeps the floor visible so the room still feels open.
Simple shapes, warm metal
The Bauhaus lever is a plain round bar on a slim rectangular plate, which suits a calm, modern room. In satin brass it looks warm rather than flashy and picks up the colour of the mirror frames and taps.
Texture on the small things
Knurling gives grip and catches the light. Using it on the vanity knobs, towel ring and robe hook ties those small pieces together, while the door handles stay smooth and quiet.
Planning notes
Bathroom handles need a bathroom lock
Bauhaus bathroom handles have the turn built into the plate, so fit them with a bathroom mortice lock at matching centres.
Match the bedroom door
Use the Bauhaus latch handles on the adjoining bedroom so both doors look the same from the landing.
Knob placement
Fit the 30mm Thaxted knobs centrally on drawers and near the top corner of cupboard doors. One knob per drawer is plenty up to about 500mm wide.
Towel ring height
Hang the towel ring about 1100mm to 1200mm from the floor, within reach of the basins but clear of the splash zone.
