Matt bronze and warm minimalism: the quiet luxury door
Mushroom-painted doors, limewashed walls and a soft, sculpted lever in matt bronze: a warmer alternative to black hardware.
Warm browns and stone in place of cool greys: mushroom or walnut doors, softly textured limewash, wide pale oak or honed travertine underfoot and natural linen, with matt bronze tying it all together.
One warm finish for every door

Why matt bronze suits a warm, quiet home
From cool to warm
For years matt black was the default for modern interiors. As rooms have moved towards browns, stone and natural textures, black can look harsh against them. Matt bronze keeps the same low-sheen restraint, but its chocolate-brown tone sits comfortably with oak, walnut and limewash.
A lever made to be held
Quiet luxury is about how things feel as much as how they look. The Algarve lever is a soft, twisting blade that falls naturally into the hand, with a tip that curls back towards the door. Choose the backplate version for panelled doors, or the rose version for a cleaner, more minimal look.
Living with the finish
The bronze colour is an applied finish rather than raw metal, so it keeps its tone without developing a patina or needing polish. A soft, damp cloth is all it needs; avoid abrasive cleaners, which can wear through the surface over time.
Getting it right
Rose or backplate?
Lever on rose suits flush and slim-Shaker doors best. On a bathroom door, pair it with the 53mm turn and release so the two roses line up one above the other.
Don't forget hinges
Bright steel hinges spoil the effect. Matt bronze butt hinges come in 4in for most internal doors and 3in for lighter cupboard doors.
Pocket doors
Where a door slides into the wall, use the 75mm dark bronze flush pull. It sits flat, so the door can disappear fully into its pocket.
Knobs need a latch
The Kensington knobs are unsprung, so fit them with a 3in heavy-duty tubular latch, which gives them their spring and keeps knuckles clear of the frame.
